A birthday party the family expects to enjoy together slowly turns sour because the father is nowhere to be found.
Selma, a teenage girl, dreams of making pizza at home with her mother and little brother for her father's birthday and then going to the amusement park. But her father's disappearance ruins her plan. Even when the family comes together at the fair, the encounter with her father — one she never wanted — leaves Selma deflated. As the family bonds unravel, the two siblings quietly begin to build a world of their own.
