The Jury

The films selected for the Lycian Way International Film Festival 2026 are evaluated by a jury of academics, filmmakers and cinema writers working in Antalya and across Türkiye.

Prof. Dr. Emine Uçar İlbuğa

Prof. Dr. Emine Uçar İlbuğa

Jury President

Prof. Dr. Emine Uçar İlbuğa is a graduate of Ankara University and completed her doctorate at the University of Hamburg. She carries out her research at the Faculty of Communication of Akdeniz University in the fields of cinema and migration, cinema and memory, and film festivals.

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Rana İğneci Süzen

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Rana İğneci Süzen

Rana İğneci Süzen completed her master's and doctoral studies at the Institute of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University. She currently teaches as an assistant professor in the Cinema and Television Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University. Her academic work focuses on screenwriting, cinema and mentality, and cultural studies.

Vahit Tansoy

Vahit Tansoy

Vahit Tansoy's passion for cinema began in Konya, where he was born, and has shaped his whole life since. He lives in Antalya and writes on cinema for a local magazine, following as many of Türkiye's film festivals as he can. In 2007 his devotion was crowned by İKSV at the Istanbul Film Festival with the world's first lifetime festival pass. As he puts it: "Long live art, long live cinema."

Doğacan Aktaş

Doğacan Aktaş

Doğacan Aktaş studied Radio, Television and Cinema at Erciyes University and completed his master's in Cinema at Akdeniz University. He lectured on film production, documentary cinema and camera-lighting at Akdeniz University (2014–2018) and Antalya Belek University (2018–2020), and published the book "Senin Sineman" on alternative filmmaking techniques in 2019. He founded the production company Antalya Film Ekibi (AFE) in 2018 and has worked as producer, director, executive producer and screenwriter on commercials, shorts, documentaries and features, collecting more than 100 awards and over 300 finalist placements at national and international festivals. He is also the director of the Mediterranean Film Production Festival.

Volkan Durmuş

Volkan Durmuş

Volkan Durmuş is a screenwriter and director born in Tire, İzmir. He graduated from the Radio and Television Department of Anadolu University. His early interest in photography grew into a passion for visual storytelling that led him to cinema. With his projects Karanlıkta, 15 and Yada Yağmurları he won awards and screened at national and international festivals. His first feature documentary, Sucuk Olmak, still in production, has already received awards and support from national and international film platforms. In his work he aims to approach social issues through an artistic lens.
