Doesn't Matter

Deniz Mıdık was born in 2003. After high school she studied film at Cinéstudio Paris School of Film and Media. Her film "Atelier Beyond" was a finalist at festivals such as Kaş Film Festival and Directed by Women, winning Best Editing at Dijital Detaylar Film Festival and Best Student Documentary at Adana Golden Boll Film Festival. Her film "Yüzmek Yasaktır" screened at Akbank Short Film Festival and Documentarist. She currently studies Communication at Galatasaray University. Director's Statement: When I started making this film, I had been imagining a film about anger for a long time. Our protagonist, struggling with the anger he feels towards the injustices around him, realizes that this emotion doesn't change anything. Anger only consumes the character from within and harms those around him. But without this emotion, he cannot speak out against anything and becomes apathetic. He can no longer be happy either. The film highlights the duality of anger: on one hand, it is a driving force in the pursuit of justice, and on the other, a destructive force that offers no solutions. When he tries to get rid of it, the result, at least for those around him, is not as expected.
